Presentation Ceremony of first academic journal of international level in South Caucasus “Caucasus International” (CI) was held on 9 December 2011.
While making his presentation managing editor of “Caucasus International” Mahir Zeynalov stressed that aforementioned journal is the first academic journal of international level in South Caucasus. He stated that July 15th of this year is the date when the first issue of Caucasus International, journal that is supposed to bring up the discussions around the South Caucasus region and to promote them on the international arena through engagement of the regional and international authors, have seen its first light in Turkey with extensive support of Center for Strategic Studies (SAM). Journal, editorial board of which includes experts in international relations of international level, was established by Eurasian Association of Academicians in Ankara with close cooperation with SAM and published quarterly. .
In course of the Ceremony Press Officer of SAM Anar Huseynov has made a presentation of the journal’s webpage. He noted that this Internet recourse is based on the two domain zones – com and org, however you can access the internet webpage of “Caucasus International” through 3 options:

CI Home page provides the abstracts of the articles of the journal’s current issue. For those who want to get familiar with at least the introductory part of the articles there is a possibility to register and log in. The articles are not fully available of the webpage due to the commercial nature of the journal.

Chief of the Political Analysis and Information Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Republic Elnur Aslanov stated that opening of the first analytical center to represent Azerbaijan in the international arena is a very important event. He noted that among the main features of its importance is that the journal was created as a result of joint cooperation of the brain centers of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
E.Aslanov stressed that: “This proves the broadening of the export area in Azerbaijan. The journal to be sold in the United States and a number of other countries is a unique sample of the scientific mind of Azerbaijan. The international composition of authors is also an important factor”.
E.Aslanov also noted that Azerbaijanis, Georgians, Russians, as well as people from the United States, Europe and Turkey have contributed to creation of the journal.
“This proves international tolerance and also shows that there are no boundaries in science. This journal brings together the thinktanks and stimulates joint activity in tackling common problems. Azerbaijan is a bridge between East and West. All the same, it is a center of Eurasia. Azerbaijan is also turning into an intellectual center of Eurasia” – said E.Aslanov.
MP Samad Seyidov, speaking at the presentation of Caucasus International journal stated that: “The Caucasus International is very important as a journal and will succeed soon”. He noted that: “through analyzing processes in the world, Azerbaijan will present its intellectual potential to the world” and that he believes: “that the journal will form a right image of Azerbaijan in the world.”
Executive Dean of the Diplomatic Academy Fariz Ismayilzade while making his presentation said that this journal will also be guidance for young people who study the international relations of Azerbaijan. He also noted that Azerbaijan lacks English speaking experts in this area. He stressed that the articles and commentaries of local and international experts will positively influence young professionals of Azerbaijan in academic sense.
Presentation Ceremony was attended by the MPs, representatives of civil society, academic and educational institutions, leading media structures and diplomatic representations.
