Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations in the context of contemporary regional geopoliticsOn October 29, 2010, the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) held an event entitled “Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations in the context of contemporary regional geopolitics” with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan H.E. Ismatulla Irgashev. The event was held within the framework of a special project aimed at organizing discussion meetings with foreign ambassadors accredited to the Azerbaijan.

Discussion meeting with the participation of Head of the OSCE Office in Baku, Ambassador Bilge CankorelSAM Center for Strategic Studies continues its special project on organizing discussion meetings with the Heads of diplomatic missions to Azerbaijan. On June 11, 2010 a discussion meeting entitled “The Role of OSCE Office in Baku in Promotion of Democratic Values in Azerbaijan” was held with the Head of the OSCE Office in Baku Ambassador Bilge Cankorel within the framework of this project.

Romania’s view on NATO’s new strategic conceptOn 9th of April 2010, the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) held a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Romania and Head of NATO coordination mission on Azerbaijan Mr. Nicolae Ureche within the framework of a special project aimed at organizing discussion meetings with foreign ambassadors accredited to the Azerbaijan.

Discussion meeting with the participation of Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Peer StanchinaOn 11 March 2010, Mr. Peer Stanchina, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Azerbaijan spoke on “The Relations between Azerbaijan and Germany in a South Caucasus context” at the Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) within the framework of discussion meetings with Foreign Ambassadors accredited to the Azerbaijan.

Discussion meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan ambassador Roland KobiaCenter for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues its special project on discussion meetings with the heads of diplomatic missions to Azerbaijan. According to this special project, on February 18, 2010 the Center for Strategic Studies held a discussion meeting entitled “Azerbaijan-EU Relations: Prospects of Cooperation” with the Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan ambassador Roland Kobia.

Azerbaijan-Japan Relations in the Contemporary Geopolitical ContextOn December 11, 2009, a discussion meeting entitled “Azerbaijan-Japan Relations in the Context of Contemporary Regional Geopolitics” was held at the SAM Center for Strategic Studies. Experts, political scientists, economists, diplomats and university students, including Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan Masamitsu Oki, attended the panel discussion.

Azerbaijan-France Relations in the Contemporary Regional Geopolitical ContextOn October 9, 2009, a discussion meeting entitled “Azerbaijan-France Relations in the Context of Contemporary Regional Geopolitics” was held at the Center for Strategic Studies of Azerbaijan. Political scientists, diplomats, policy analysts and university students, including French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller, attended the panel discussion.

Azerbaijan-UK Relations in the Contemporary Regional Geopolitical ContextOn September 18, 2009, a discussion meeting entitled “Azerbaijan-UK Relations in the Context of Contemporary Regional Geopolitics” was held at the Center for Strategic Studies of Azerbaijan. Experts, political scientists, economists and diplomats, including UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Carolyn Browne, attended the panel discussion.

Azerbaijan-China Relations in the Contemporary Regional Geopolitical ContextOn September 4, 2009, a discussion meeting entitled “Azerbaijan-Chinese Relations in the Context of Contemporary Regional Geopolitics” was held at the Center for Strategic Studies of Azerbaijan. Experts, political scientists, economists and diplomats, including the ambassador of People's Republic of China to Azerbaijan, Chzhan Yannyan, attended the panel discussion.

Azerbaijan-Israel Relations in the Contemporary Regional Geopolitical ContextOn June 19, 2009, a panel discussion entitled “Azerbaijan-Israel Relations in the Context of Contemporary Regional Geopolitics” was held at the Center for Strategic Studies of Azerbaijan. Experts, political scientists, economists and diplomats, including the Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan, Arthur Lenk, attended the round table. In his speech, Lenk noted that Israeli president Shimon Peres’ visit to Azerbaijan would open a new phase in bilateral relations.

Turkey-Azerbaijan Relations in the Contemporary Regional Geopolitical ContextTurkey-Azerbaijan Relations in the Contemporary Regional Geopolitical ContextOn June 12, 2009 the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan hosted a panel discussion entitled “Turkey-Azerbaijan Relations in the Contemporary Regional Geopolitical Context”. Mr. Hulusi Kilic, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, spoke about Azerbaijani and Turkish Diasporas: “Turkey and Azerbaijan must strengthen their diaspora and unite their efforts. Azerbaijani and Turkish businessmen should invest in the establishment of such diaspora.”

Russia-Azerbaijan Relations in the Contemporary Regional Geopolitical ContextIn a round table discussion held on June 5, 2009 at the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan and entitled “Russia-Azerbaijan Relations in the Contemporary Regional Geopolitical Context”, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin touched upon a number of topics. He noted that Azerbaijan and Russia have a high level of mutual understanding and respect. “Moscow believes that Baku will never threaten stability in Russia. There is confidence between the two nations.
