Trends in Armenia's political sceneRecent developments in political life of Armenia suggest that the political forces, supported by various external geopolitical centers, long before the announcement of the parliamentary elections to be held in 2012, joined the struggle for seats in the National Assembly with a view to win presidency in 2013.
PRE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN: MAIN SPECIFICS, PRELIMINARY RESULTSThe pre-election campaign was launched formally on 15 October 2010. Election propaganda is one of the essential institutions for civil political struggle; it expresses efforts aimed at encouraging voters to participate in elections, to vote for or against a candidate, as well as creating a positive image of a candidate and negative image of his or her rivals. At this stage of elections, real steps are taken to accomplish the strategic goals set forth. This stage is already over.
Election 2010-The candidates that will be participating in the Parliamentary elections have been identifiedThe SAM Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan is preparing 3rd analytical report on the Parliamentary elections 2010 reflecting analytical views. The analysis titled “Election 2010-The candidates that will be participating in the Parliamentary elections have been identified” describes the ending of the registration stage of the candidates, the preparation and mission of measures implemented by government, election tactics applied of ruling and opposition parties, forming of the whole composition of the Central Election Committee, missions of international and local observers. New features of opposition parties’ bloc tactics were analyzed as well in report. Accordingly, this report summed up first three stages of 2010 parliamentary election processes which stayed back, new inclinations in the activities of the country in the election process and new tendencies of political forces are observed.
ELECTION STRUGGLE FOR A SPOT ON THE LISTS OF CANDIDATESThe Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) is presenting next analysis on the main stage of the Parliamentary Elections 2010. The analysis namely “Election struggle in the lists of candidate: the activists, winners and losers – all are among the same line” describes the official start of the beginning of the parliamentary elections, the lists of the candidates of the election blocks as well as works conducted to prevent the problems during the elections by civil societies. Also is given the comparison analysis of participation of the political parties and the experience of the election blocks in the conducted parliamentary elections during independency.
Elections 2010. Initial Stage of the Parliamentary Elections: Who is ready?The SAM Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan is preparing the analytical report on the Parliamentary elections 2010 reflecting analytical views. Five of such publications on the analysis of the stages of the political struggle to be represented in the Parliament is intended to be published by the end of the elections. The first analytical report namely “Elections 2010. Initial Stage of the Parliamentary Elections: Who is ready?” deals with the preparation process of the political parties, civil society organizations, independent candidates, local and international observers for the next forthcoming parliamentary elections.
